Safeguarding Children and Adults

At The Allan Practice, we are committed to safeguarding children, young people, and adults at risk from abuse and neglect. Keeping people safe is a vital part of the care we provide, and we follow strict policies and procedures to ensure their well-being.

Our Approach to Safeguarding

We have systems in place to protect those who may be at risk, working closely with other healthcare providers, social services, and safeguarding organisations to ensure early identification and intervention when needed.

Our Safeguarding Leads

The designated Safeguarding Lead at our practice is Dr. Maria Easaw. The Deputy Safeguarding Lead is Dr. Asif Hirani, who assumes the role in her absence.

They ensure protection by:

– Promoting best practices in safeguarding.

– Providing advice and support to our team.

– Ensuring staff receive appropriate safeguarding training.

– Overseeing the implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures.

Safeguarding Children

We take safeguarding children seriously and work proactively to:

– Protect them from harm or maltreatment.

– Prevent any negative impact on their health or development.

– Ensure they grow up in a safe and caring environment.

– Identify and respond to concerns as early as possible.

– Work with other agencies to support children and their families.

– Follow national safeguarding guidelines and local procedures, including those set by the Buckinghamshire Council Child and Adult Safeguarding Boards.

If you have concerns about a child’s safety, please speak to a member of our team.

You can also report concerns directly through Buckinghamshire Council

Safeguarding Adults at Risk

We are also committed to protecting adults at risk. Our team ensures that:

– Staff understand the definition of an adult at risk and the types of abuse they may face.

– Internal procedures for recording safeguarding concerns are followed, as outlined in our safeguarding adults policy.

– Concerns are reported appropriately in line with local multi-agency policies and procedures.

We work proactively to:

– Identify and address concerns as early as possible.

– Protect individuals where there are known risks and respond appropriately to any signs or allegations of abuse.

– Collaborate with other organisations to implement protection plans.

– Engage actively in local safeguarding procedures, including those set by the Buckinghamshire Council Child and Adult Safeguarding Boards, and work with the local integrated care board (ICB) and local authority safeguarding teams.
