✅ This is true — but access will be strictly limited under NHS eligibility rules.

🔒 To qualify, you must meet both of the following:

✔️ A BMI of 40+ (or 37.5+ if you’re from a minority ethnic background)
👉 Check your BMI on the NHS website

and

✔️ A diagnosis of at least four of the following five conditions:
• High blood pressure (hypertension)
• Type 2 diabetes
• Heart disease (cardiovascular disease)
• High cholesterol (dyslipidaemia)
• Sleep apnoea (obstructive sleep apnoea)

📌 The year one eligible cohort for this medication in primary care are only those with a BMI over 40 and four of the five comorbidities listed above.
💊 There should be no prescribing for Mounjaro for weight management in primary care until the local enhanced service (LCS) launches in July 2025.

📄 You can read more about the NHS eligibility criteria and rollout plans in this NHS guidance.https://www.england.nhs.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/PRN01879-interim-commissioning-guidance-implementation-of-the-nice-technology-appraisal-ta1026-and-the-NICE-fu.pdf?utm_medium=email&utm_name=&utm_source=govdelivery

⛔ Please do not contact the practice about weight loss injections unless you meet these criteria.
