Bonfire Night safety: Thursday 5 November
Bonfire Night is on Thursday 5 November, and we’d love you all to enjoy the celebrations safely this year.
- The safest way to enjoy fireworks is at an organised public display.
- Sparklers: wear gloves, light one at a time and hold it at arm’s length. Never give sparklers to children under 5.
- Never go back to a lit firework, even if it hasn’t gone off.
- If someone gets a burn, cool it under cool running water for 20 minutes. Don’t put creams, oils or butter on it.
For a large, deep or serious burn, call 999. Not sure what to do? Use NHS 111 online or call 111.
